Henri Sayes founded Sayes Studio in 2016 after working for some of Aucklands most well respected architecture firms, including 5 years as a project architect at Malcolm Walker Architects.
Sayes Studio is a practice committed to developing clever and considered solutions for residential living. As constraints on land put new pressures on house design, we are interested in investigating new, better and, often, smaller way of crafting space to create functional and beautiful homes. The practice prides itself on working closely with clients to understand their needs and wants as well as their budget and the opportunities of their site to create spaces that balance the pragmatic and the poetic.
Henri holds a degree in architecture from the University of Auckland. His work and writing has been published in Dwell (USA), Habitus Living (AUS), Home NZ, Urbis, Architecture New Zealand, and has been awarded by the New Zealand Institute of Architects.
