Project Description:

Garden Studio has been thought of in its two states of use: as studio with the doors and screens in various stages of openness, and when the screens are closed - as an active edge, adding amenity to the garden.

The outdoor fireplace is embedded into the wall of the building, creating a space for socialising. It was important to not just place a building into the backyard, adding bulk and taking space away from the backyard, but ensure that what was added gave more to the garden, and gave more reason to leave the house and engage with the garden.
